VEHICLE RESERVATION REQUIREMENT EFFECTIVE MAY 25 - SEPTEMBER 2, 2024

Vehicle Reservations are required for Day Use visitation at Alexander Springs from May 25 through September 2, 2024 on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays including Memorial Day (May 27), Juneteenth (June 19), Independence Day Holiday (July 4 & 5), and Labor Day (September 2).

  • Alexander Springs Campground + Recreation Area is a tranquil escape nestled within the picturesque landscapes of the Ocala National Forest. Situated along CR 445 in the northeast corner of Lake County between Astor and Altoona, our recreation area offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and modern amenities.

    Explore 67 shady campsites at Alexander Springs Campground, where options cater to both spontaneous adventurers and those seeking a peaceful retreat amidst nature's embrace.

    From scenic canoeing along the crystal-clear river to the inviting waters of Alexander Springs, where the constant 72-degree temperature beckons swimmers, snorkelers and certified divers year-round, there's something for everyone to enjoy amidst the timeless allure of this Florida wilderness.

  • Amenities include 60 Picnic Tables, 40 Grills, 2 Picnic Shelters, an Amphitheater and a Concession Building.

    The facility provides hot showers and restrooms with flush toilets.

    Campers can purchase ice and firewood on-site and rent bikes nearby.

    Dump station and potable water on site.

    Lifeguard: 7 days a week May 15 - September 15: 10am to 6pm

    With forested scenery and abundant water, the recreation area offers camping, swimming, canoeing, scuba diving (for certified divers), hiking, birding and wildlife viewing. PLEASE NOTE: Pets are not allowed in the day use area.

    Accepts bookings: 6 months out

    Reservations available year round and required from March 23 to November 15, 2023.

    Same day walk up only permitted from November 16, 2023 to March 22, 2024.

    Maximum 14 day stay, monthly bookings not permitted.

    Fees:
    $13 + tax/per-person

    $80+ tax Annual Day Use Pass Available to Purchase On-Site

    The vehicle reservation fee is $20 per vehicle in addition to standard admission fees. Admission fees are charged per person and can only be purchased on the day of visit at the gate house.

    Vehicle reservations are required every Saturday & Sunday plus holidays from May 25 through Sept 2, 2024, and must be purchased online.
