CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

  • Hosts work together to ensure the campground is in good working order and that all visitors are informed, prepared and attended to.  Hosts create a welcoming, family friendly, safe and amazing campground for all visitors.   

    Primary responsibilities include customer service, gatehouse shifts, cleaning bathroom facilities, light maintenance and landscaping, camp site cleanup and creating a high energy positive work environment. 

    Hosts are expected to work a minimum of 3 months and can work our full 8-month season (March through November). Hosts that can stay longer are always welcome. Hosts work 30-40 hours per week and are paid hourly. 

    Hosts are required to live on-site and are provided with an FHU site.  Cell phone and internet service are extremely limited.

  • Customer Service Associates welcome and educate all visitors on what Sliding Rock is, how it works, what to expect, and most importantly, the safety rules and information. Associates collect admission fees for the area, with all visitors paying $5 per person for access. They are responsible for frequently cleaning the bathrooms and changing rooms. Managing parking, traffic control, money handling, trash pickup, and light landscaping are primary responsibilities of the job. All staff are expected to follow Naventure and USFS protocols.

    Full-time and part-time hourly positions are available, with schedules ranging from 2 to 6 days per week. Weekend and holiday availability is expected. Pay starts at $14.50 per hour.

  • While you will be behind a desk at times, a large portion of your time will be spent at our various locations within the gorgeous Ocala National Forest. You will be working with the public and helping make their adventures happen. The main emphasis of this position is to provide leadership to all Naventure staff located in the Ocala National Forest. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience training staff to provide exceptional levels of customer service. Familiarity with the Ocala National Forest is preferred.

  • Naventure is seeking adventurous and safety conscious Lifeguards to join our team at Sliding Rock Recreation Area. This is no swimming pool or country club! Sliding Rock creates a fun, challenging, rewarding and unique work environment. We are also interested in talking with avid paddlers and swift water rescue technicians. This is a great opportunity for adventurers, rescue personnel, outdoor trip leaders and students alike. 

    Sliding Rock Recreation Area is an iconic location and activity in the heart of Pisgah National Forest. Sliding Rock is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, 7 days a week from 9am to 6pm. 

    Sliding Rock is a 60-foot natural water slide, where visitors come to experience this unique natural attraction and feel some adrenaline in a once in a lifetime adventure. This is cold and fast-moving whitewater. The pool is 8-10 feet deep in some places and much of the pool is 6 feet or less and allows guards and visitors to stand. 

    Lifeguards are responsible for following Naventure and USFS protocol, managing the overall safety of the visitors and creating a low risk, welcoming and enthusiastic environment for visitors and staff alike. Lifeguards monitor the pool and surrounding areas, manage risk, engage with, and instruct visitors, provide first aid, manage emergencies and work with local rescue agencies. 

    If you do not have a Lifeguard certification, we are happy to help. At Naventure, we reimburse Lifeguards for their certification course after 30 days of employment. 

    Seasonal positions, with full-time and part-time hours, hourly positions working 2-6 days per week are available. Working on weekends and holidays is expected.

  • Naventure is seeking an experienced, adventurous and safety conscious Manager to join our team at Sliding Rock Recreational Area. 

    This is a seasonal position working 40 plus hours, 5 days per week. Working weekends and holidays is required. 

    Primary responsibilities are leading and managing a group of 15-20 staff in a high volume, fast-paced work environment. Hiring, training, scheduling, leading by example, excellent customer service, strong risk management, great communication, cash handling/deposits, retail, and creating a high energy, enthusiastic and positive work environment are also primary responsibilities.

ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES

We accept applications on an ongoing basis, and welcome prospective candidates to express their interest for future opportunities.

  • The Campground Manager(s) is a seasonal or year round position. We prefer that managers work a full 8 month season or longer (March through November). This position is responsible for all aspects of the day to day operations of the campground.

    Primary responsibilities are hiring, training, scheduling, administrative, purchasing, leading by example, high level customer service and creating a high energy positive work environment. Some locations may require a manager to perform various housekeeping and grounds maintenance duties. We are seeking independent workers with a strong work ethic and thoughtful leadership.

    Salaried Position with paid vacation time and benefits available.

  • Lifeguards must have a strong focus on risk management and communication. Applicants need to have reliable transportation, a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

    Must be 18 years or older, and must have up-to-date lifeguard, first aid, and CPR certifications. Must be able to walk at least one-mile comfortably and lift about 50 lbs.
