Cara Sznurkowski

OPERATIONS DEVELOPMENT LEADER

As the Operations Development Leader, Cara oversees operational standards across Naventure’s 20+ locations and leads the organization’s sustainability initiatives. She also develops and manages employee training processes, oversees reservation processes on Recreation.gov, and contributes to social media content development.

Cara joined the Naventure team after overseeing outdoor programming with the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida for nearly seven years. During her time with Girl Scouts, she is most proud to have received the Edie Klein Award for Program Excellence from the American Camp Association, Southeastern, for her work to create innovative alternative summer camp programming during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to Girl Scouts, Cara was an intern with the National Park Service where she rewrote the Junior Ranger program for the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, assisted in trail relocation, and led outreach to those under served in the Atlanta community.

While at the University of Florida, Cara focused on natural resources, and recreation planning & development. She achieved a Bachelors of Science in Entomology and Nematology with a minor in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation; then completed a Masters of Forest Resources and Conservation with her thesis project focused on user conflict mitigation on the multiple use sections of the Florida National Scenic Trail. Cara also holds a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from the University of South Florida.
